APC Easy-UPS BVX 700VA (Schuko)

APC Easy-UPS BVX 700VA (Schuko)
The APC Easy-UPS BVX 700VA backup power supply is a compact solution for protecting home electronics and office computers. This 700VA APC UPS operates with Standby (Off-line) topology and delivers a real power output of 360W with an apparent power of 700VA. Its key component is Automatic Voltage Regulation (AVR), which actively stabilises fluctuations in the mains supply. This corrects both undervoltage and overvoltage without immediately switching to battery power, thereby saving battery life. At a half load of 180W, it powers connected devices for 5 minutes, giving you enough time to save your work. The compact Tower design, measuring 98 × 138 × 310mm, makes it easy to place next to a computer or under a desk.
Key features of the APC Easy-UPS BVX 700VA (Schuko) backup power supply
- Standby (Off-line) topology for basic protection
- Automatic Voltage Regulation (AVR) corrects mains fluctuations
- User-replaceable lead-acid battery
- Two fully backed-up Schuko output sockets
- Integrated surge protection against voltage spikes
- Compact vertical Tower design
Topology and performance
The backup power supply uses Standby topology and provides an apparent power of 700VA, with a real power output of 360W. Its efficiency at full load is 96.6%, and 93.7% at half load. Automatic Voltage Regulation (AVR) stabilises the output voltage without switching to battery. At a 180W (50%) load, it powers connected devices for 5 minutes.
Battery and protection for the APC Easy-UPS BVX 700VA with Schuko
At the heart of the power supply is a maintenance-free 12V lead-acid battery with a capacity of 7.0Ah. A full recharge from a depleted state typically takes 8 hours. The device is designed for easy maintenance, so the user can easily replace the battery, which extends the overall life of the UPS and reduces operating costs. In addition to battery backup, this model also integrates surge protection, which can absorb energy spikes of up to 273J. This protects connected electronics from damage caused by events like lightning strikes or sudden surges in the electrical grid.
Controls and operational indicators
This backup power supply is designed for simple, direct use without any need for software configuration. It does not include communication ports like USB or RS-232, and therefore cannot be managed via specialised software. All current status information is provided by a clear LED panel, which visually informs the user whether the device is running on mains power or on battery. Audible alarms also provide information about its operation. During standard operation, the noise level reaches 40dBA, which corresponds to a quiet office or home environment.
Connectivity and sockets of the backup power supply
A permanently installed 1.2-metre cable, terminated with a standard Schuko plug (Type F), is used for connecting to the mains. Two output sockets, also of the Schuko type, are provided for powering protected devices. Both sockets offer full protection, providing both battery backup during a power outage and surge protection. The vertical Tower design with compact dimensions makes installation easy in limited spaces. The device is designed for operation in a temperature range of 0°C to 40°C.
