The ARCTIC Liquid Freezer III 280 Pro liquid cooler efficiently dissipates heat from high-performance processors for Intel socket 1700, 1851 and AMD AM4, AM5 platforms. At the heart of the system is a PWM-controlled pump that operates between 800 and 2800rpm and a 38mm thick aluminium radiator. It is fitted with two 140mm P14 Pro fans with Fluid Dynamic Bearings. These fans, with a high static pressure of 5.2mmH2O and an airflow of 110CFM, effectively push air through the dense fins. The package includes MX-6 thermal paste for optimal heat transfer.

Power stage cooling
In addition to the processor, the cooler also takes care of the surrounding components. It integrates a fan directly into the processor block, which actively cools the VRM power stage components on the motherboard. This additional airflow contributes to system stability under high load. The VRM fan speed can be controlled in a range from 400 to 2500rpm.
Liquid cooler mounting system
For AMD AM5 processors, the cooler uses an offset mount that better centres the contact surface over the processor chiplet hotspots. For the Intel platform, it uses a special contact frame for sockets 1700 and 1851, which evenly distributes pressure and prevents deformation of both the processor and the socket. Both methods improve contact and heat transfer.
Cable management and control
Installation is simplified by routing the fan cables directly into the braided 450mm hoses, keeping the case tidy. The system offers two options for speed control – either a single PWM cable for synchronous control of all components, or using the included splitter. The splitter lets you control the speed of the pump, VRM fan, and radiator fans independently.
