It stands by you

The lens has an improved image stabiliser system that provides significantly enhanced movement suppression. This minimises the need for a tripod, plus it lets you shoot at lower shutter speeds by up to 4 degrees EV. This means greater detail in low light conditions or at lower ISOs. Additionally, the system can work with 5-axis stabilisation in the camera, allowing the results to enhance the stabilisation of the extremely sharp and crisp images.

Optics for Every Situation

The advanced optical design, with 17 elements arranged in 13 groups, ensures high image quality throughout the zoom range, which is a frequent weakness of lower-class focal lengths. Not in this case. Optimal placement of elements, where there is also a ULD (Ultra Low Dispersion) and two aspheric lenses, minimises chromatic aberration and captures fringing with accurate contrast and colour. It focuses with full zoom at 45cm, so you can use maximum zoom even at short distances.
