Choosing a power supply
When choosing a suitable PC power supply, the key parameter besides the form factor is its power output. This indicates the maximum number of watts the power supply can continuously deliver to the computer's components. It is advisable to use a web calculator to determine the optimal wattage based on your chosen components.
Efficiency and flexible installation of the Cooler Master V850 SFX Gold
The 80 PLUS Gold certification guarantees 90% efficiency under typical load, reducing both electricity consumption and residual heat generation. The power supply is cooled by a 92mm fan with a fluid dynamic bearing, whose speed is controlled by automatic thermal regulation. Fully detachable cables simplify internal organisation and contribute to better airflow inside the case. A comprehensive suite of protections (OVP, UVP, OCP, OPP, SCP, OTP) ensures safe operation, and the included mounting bracket enables installation in standard ATX cases.

80 Plus certification on the European market
The 80 Plus certification was created to objectively evaluate the efficiency of PC power supplies. It gives users a simple and clear way to compare different models. On the European market (which uses a 230V supply), there are six levels of 80 Plus certification, each with set requirements for PC power supplies. Higher energy efficiency primarily means lower energy consumption.
| PC power supply load | Efficiency at 20% load | Efficiency at 50% load | Efficiency at 100% load |
|---|---|---|---|
| 80 PLUS | 82 % | 85 % | 82 % |
| 80 PLUS Bronze | 85 % | 88 % | 85 % |
| 80 PLUS Silver | 87 % | 90 % | 87 % |
| 80 PLUS Gold | 90 % | 92 % | 89 % |
| 80 PLUS Platinum | 92 % | 94 % | 90 % |
