The IP rating is an internationally recognized standard that specifies the resistance of electronic devices against the ingress of foreign objects and liquids. The IP64 code means that a device, such as headphones, speakers, or MP3 players, is fully protected against dust ingress, which the first digit "6" indicates. The second digit "4" then guarantees resistance against splashing water from all directions. Such a device is therefore suitable for use in rain, during sports due to sweat, or in dusty environments, but it is not waterproof and cannot be submerged in water.
