The Eaton 9PX 3000i RT2U UPS with Li-Ion battery and Netpack card operates on the principle of online double-conversion topology. It provides a real power output of 2400W and an apparent power of 3000VA to supply servers and network components. As an online double-conversion UPS, it continuously filters and stabilises the input voltage, delivering a pure sine wave with zero delay when switching to battery power. This lithium-ion UPS stands out with a battery life of 8–10 years, which reduces operating costs and the frequency of replacements. The unit provides continuous power protection for sensitive IT equipment with high energy efficiency, reaching 94% at full load. Its 2U design makes this rackmount UPS suitable for installation in standard data racks.

UPS topology and performance

The UPS uses online double-conversion topology, which continuously regenerates the voltage, ensuring a zero transfer time to battery operation during a power outage. The real power output of the unit is 2400W with an apparent power of 3000VA. Energy Star certification confirms its economical operation. At full load, the UPS has an efficiency of up to 94%, which helps reduce energy and cooling costs. The core of the unit is its lithium-ion batteries with an expected lifespan of 8 to 10 years. The cold start function allows the UPS to start from the battery even without an input power supply. Integrated protection circuits safeguard the battery from deep discharge.

Management and software

The package includes a Netpack network card, which simplifies integration into virtualisation and cloud environments. Eaton Intelligent Power software is used for monitoring and managing the UPS within established IT platforms and supports automatic, safe shutdown of systems. The device also measures energy consumption separately for groups of outlets, and the values can be monitored on the display or in the software. To connect powered devices, the UPS offers eight IEC 320 C13 outlets and two IEC 320 C19 outlets. The input connection is handled by two IEC Jumper cables. The two more powerful C19 outlets are for devices with higher power consumption, while the eight C13 outlets cover standard IT equipment.
