Compact external RAID subsystem with sockets for two hard drives with Serial ATA Type I or II. The system can also connect a portable hard drive using the rear exit with Serial ATA or USB 2.0 port. The device supports RAID modes 0 or 1 and in the case of a 1 can then use the hot swapping, which is equipped with a locking mechanism. The box is equipped with an LCD display for easy administration and maintenance of the system, and is independent of the operating system.
