The Huawei AP266 WiFi access point uses the WiFi 6 standard and broadcasts on two frequency bands. In the 5GHz band, the device transmits data at speeds of up to 2.4Gb/s. This compact, wall- or ceiling-mountable access point supports Power over Ethernet (PoE). The device can reliably serve dozens of connected users in offices and homes. Modern encryption protocols protect wireless transmission, preventing unauthorised access to transmitted data. Integrated surge protection on the ethernet ports shields sensitive internal circuits from damage caused by atmospheric discharges or voltage spikes on the network. The differential mode on the PoE ports can handle voltages up to 0.5kV, while the common mode on all ports can withstand pulses of up to 4kV.

Wi-Fi standards and transfer speeds
The device uses modern 802.11ax wireless technology, which operates on the 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands. In the 5GHz band, it uses a channel width of up to 160MHz, which significantly speeds up the transfer of large data volumes. MU-MIMO technology in a 2×2 configuration on both bands helps to efficiently divide the network capacity among multiple active devices simultaneously. Built-in smart antennas optimise the radiation pattern for a stable wireless connection.
Coverage area and network capacity
This access point covers a circular area with an optimal radius of 20 metres. The manufacturer recommends connecting 64 users, but the hardware limit supports up to 128 active devices simultaneously without loss of stability. The leader AP function simplifies the management and coordination of multiple units in a single network. The system automatically manages user access and maintains smooth operation even with a high density of connected clients.
Connectors
The physical interface consists of five gigabit RJ45 ethernet ports with automatic 10/100/1000Mb/s speed detection. One of these ports is used for power input via an ethernet cable according to the 802.3at or 802.3af standard. The remaining four ports are for connecting end devices using a standard cable with 15W PoE output power.
