Introduction to the New Testament

Since the publication of the older Literary and Theological Introduction to the New Testament (Vyšehrad 1993), biblical studies have entered a new stage in both methodology and the results of individual exegetical projects. Consequently, Prof. Petr Pokorný has completely reworked the material. While the book's structure remains close to the genre of literary introductions, it goes beyond them by thoroughly discussing the theology of the individual writings and layers of the New Testament. It also provides an outline of the overall concept of the New Testament canon.
