QNAP QXP-10G2U3A

QNAP QXP-10G2U3A
The QNAP QXP-10G2U3A internal controller expands the connectivity of compatible devices with a high-speed USB 3.2 Gen 2 interface. This PCIe Gen2 × 2 expansion card, featuring an ASMedia ASM3142 host controller, delivers transfer speeds of up to 10Gb/s, which is twice as fast as the older USB 3.2 Gen 1 standard. The card offers two external USB Type-A ports and supports operation in Windows 10, Ubuntu 20.04 LTS, and QNAP network storage devices running the QTS system. This provides users with fast data transfer and easy connection of external storage to a computer or NAS.
Key features of the QNAP QXP-10G2U3A controller
- The card offers a USB 3.2 Gen 2 interface with data transfer speeds of up to 10Gb/s
- The device has two external, backward-compatible USB Type-A ports
- Supports the UASP protocol to accelerate file transfers
- Works in Windows and Ubuntu without driver installation
- Integrated circuits have short-circuit and overcurrent protection
- Uses power-saving processes to reduce overall energy consumption
High speed
The card uses a USB 3.2 Gen 2 interface via a PCIe Gen2 × 2 bus, providing a transfer speed of up to 10Gb/s. This is twice as fast as the older USB 3.2 Gen 1 standard and twenty times faster than the 0.48Gb/s speed of the USB 2.0 interface. Users can transfer large volumes of data in a matter of seconds, significantly shortening the time needed for daily file backups or copying.
Connectivity
The expansion card offers two external USB Type-A ports for connecting peripheral devices. Both ports support the full speed of the USB 3.2 Gen 2 standard and maintain backward compatibility with older USB versions. This makes it easy to connect your existing accessories without needing to buy adapters. The low-profile design, measuring 89.65 × 68.9 × 14mm, is complemented by a pre-installed low-profile bracket, while a full-height bracket is also included in the package.
Easy installation
The controller works in Windows 8.x, Windows 10 (both 32-bit and 64-bit versions), and Ubuntu desktop 20.04 LTS without needing to install any additional drivers. It can be just as easily integrated into compatible QNAP network storage devices with QTS 4.3.6 or newer and QuTS hero. This gives users immediate access to higher performance as soon as the card is physically installed in a free PCIe slot.
Storage capacity expansion
The card fully supports the connection of QNAP TL USB JBOD external expansion units. This way, you can easily increase the storage capacity of your desktop computer or existing NAS device and create a fast DAS solution. Users can then manage disks and configure RAID arrays via the Storage & Snapshots Manager application in QTS/QuTS hero or using the QNAP JBOD Manager tool on their computer.
Advanced power and safety
The design uses advanced power-saving processes that fully comply with PCIe bus and USB power management standards. In addition, the card includes short-circuit and overcurrent protection, which increases the safety of connected external drives. Support for the UASP (USB Attached SCSI Protocol) protocol also speeds up intensive data transfers and file sharing. These mechanisms prevent hardware damage during unexpected power fluctuations.
