the smell, it lasted almost a month before it stopped smelling
apc software is not bloatware, but I would have expected better, much better.
after about 3/4 year I found out, when it went down, that it just didn't work, even to the point that it almost took out the electronics. the flashlight died. I bought a new one, but in the meantime I replaced a new one, which hasn't had a problem for more than 10 years (with one battery change). I'll try again to see if it works
the LEDs shine incredibly dim, need to be re-glued
the best part is that when I put the USka to the test, still with the bad flashlight, it pretended that everything was ok: D
I bought 3 pcs and all of them have been on warranty one even twice...it can handle 2 power outages and then it shuts down almost immediately when the next one happens.
I bought different types in number of 3pcs and they switch off spontaneously, each after a different time. Probably defective components or PCB design.
- as some have written, ups really stinks even after a year and a bit of operation. - it is relatively quiet, but it is not 100% for a completely quiet room if you like peace and quiet. say 90% noise level ok (even when running on battery it is quite ok)
- the first piece quit after about a year and a bit of operation (the output voltage on the battery fluctuated and sometimes the ups switched to "standby mode" with beeping and flashing even when the power supply was 220V ok -> it was necessary to turn the ups off and on (the battery was ok)
-> it was enough to call the Czech apc support, where (for today) you can call just fine, a person talks to you and mainly tries to solve the matter. Afterwards, I sent an email ticket to support to resolve the issue, followed by a notification that it would be resolved by replacement, which happened within a few days. First the DHL courier delivered a new UPS and now the original broken one is waiting to be taken away. Support is therefore 100% even when it comes to home resp. small business ups what you wouldn't expect

and I bought it for my wife and returned it because it didn't work either and I left her PC without UPS
the fact that it is lit would not matter, but it heats up quite a lot, even when it is not powering anything. I definitely recommend not to put anything on it.
