It doesn't look very good, but it works and does its job.
12TB 3.5 WD Ultrastar drive on Mack encrypted works
Write/read speeds of about 100-125 Mbps USB-C to M2 Mac, I used a TB4 cable.
So far it has transferred the first 4TB in 13 hours reliably
does not overheat temperature around 40c at 14h of continuous writing
The disk does not turn off completely either after disconnecting or after pressing the power button. It's still spinning. Hard shutdown by pulling the cable does not work reliably.
technically very simple, there is a tiny motherboard
Solid construction, although as mentioned elsewhere, I guess the metal doesn't help much in cooling. And can easily scratch the table, rubber pads are important. But by default they are glued over the screws, that's silly (when you want to reassemble the disc). I used a different (taller) adhesive backing I had on hand, and glued in just the corners so it wouldn't cover the screws. On one PC (desktop with X870 chipset), the connection to the USB-C port (20Gb/s) usually doesn't work, it reports errors and nothing happens. If I plug it into the USB-A ports, it's fine. I'm still bothered by the button/diode, because you can't tell when the disc is on. Often the disk runs even when the LED is not lit, e.g. if there is a problem with the cable, or if you start the drive and the cable is not plugged in yet, or if you disable the drive from the OS by software, etc. And then you don't know when you can unplug the box. The button should have been a cradle like elsewhere, then it would have been clear. Despite some reservations, I am quite satisfied. I've tried two boxes, this one and the Icy Box, and this one seemed better.
SMART and TRIM works (Linux)
solid construction
covering the screws with a damping washer is a bad idea, there should have been feet/pads outside the screws
it would require a stand
rough metal surface, easy to scratch
it is often impossible to tell when it is in use. The on button should have been a cradle where it was clear.
one of the PCs is not connecting to the USB-C port
A nice frame with a metal body for a "big" drive that looks definitely better than the ready-made "in plastic" solutions from WD and similar companies. The advantage is that you can put in the drive of your choice and you don't have to risk buying a rabbit in the bag and dealing with data loss after two years. With the silent 8GB WD RED PLUS, it handles speeds of about 240 MBps when connected directly to USB. The drive goes to sleep in the frame, which is good, but too often for my taste (when connected to USB). Relatively small power supply, metal body, power button, heat dissipation ribbing, although the inside is plastic, so the disc does not touch the body directly and cooling is only "through the air" in the box. The disk in the frame is used as a network drive, it is still connected in the USB port of the router and everything works perfectly, including falling asleep. I am really very satisfied.
well made, metal body
ribbing for heat dissipation
switch-off button
usb-c
speed
disk shutdown
price
platinum frame inside, I would welcome a metal construction
almost too aggressive putting a drive connected to usb to sleep
I purchased this box for an HDD on which I back up some files from my NAS. It automatically shuts down when idle, but just perform any action and it wakes up immediately.

It works, I'm just a little disappointed that it doesn't work without power via USB C I thought if I connected it via USB C it wouldn't need a power supply, but without a power supply it doesn't work.
The practical USB 3 adapter makes the drive a versatile solution.
The cable to the disk could be longer. Even though it's aluminum, the aluminum doesn't come in contact with the disc, so it doesn't cool the disc in any way and rather bakes in a sealed box.

Solid metal construction
Easy installation and start-up
Anti-slip pads in the package
Not too noisy
It did not heat up significantly even with a continuous 500GB transfer
It's not made for quick swapping of different drives, more like a box for one internal
The blue operation LED is relatively strong
