Leaving aside the fact that I missed that the printer doesn't have a LAN connector for a wired network, connecting to WiFi was easy and worked first time. It also installed on my Windows 11 PC without any problems, and the test print was also OK. The first scan, although slow, also went smoothly. But that's where the good part ended. Even though the printer is always on, whenever I send a print job to it, the printer's status monitor appears, shows the printer's status (online), the current ink levels, and the print job sent to it. And that's all, the printer doesn't print, nor does it show any change in activity. The print job is in the queue and being sent to the printer, but nothing comes out of the printer, it doesn't bat an eyelid. The printer's display shows an idle state – ready to copy. The solution – restart the printer. Another attempt to print a few days later, the same thing again. The WiFi connection is fit for throwing out of the window. Even updating the firmware to the latest version, which the printer prompted for on both the display and in the status monitor, didn't help. Here's another snag: the update failed via the printer's control panel. And lo and behold, to update via PC, you need to log in as an administrator to the printer's web interface, which requires a password, but you never set one during installation, nor did you know there would be one, and the installation wizard doesn't warn you about anything like that. Only in the PDF manual and in the troubleshooting section on the website do you find out that there is a factory-set password which is on the back label of the printer or you have to print the network settings via the printer's control panel. What a brilliant user experience. Every time you just get wound up because you don't want to spend half an hour or more dealing with obstacles when you just need to print a single piece of paper. Who on earth programmed this? The printer has been switched to USB; for me, it could certainly have been cheaper without the WiFi module, which only causes problems and is therefore useless.

A multifunction printer for such a price? For occasional home use, for printing a few pages a month and about the same number of scans, it's more than sufficient. The resolution is at the usual level. Colour reproduction is adequate. Installation is probably more complicated for the inexperienced. Otherwise, it's actually perfectly simple. It works flawlessly under Linux without needing to first set it up with a Windows-only utility, unlike other series. The Android support is also excellent. The display for basic status information is a plus. Nothing more is needed.
