Really solid aluminium body. That's really the only big plus. Otherwise absolutely useless. The cable to plug into the Steam Deck has to be forcefully twisted to get it to plug in at all. After a few plugs, the cable gets destroyed. I've used HDMI about 3 times and when I plugged it in for the fourth time, the TV said HDMI unknown.
Steam deck must be upside down or completely on the edge as much as possible. Otherwise it blocks ventilation and still the cable gets stuck in there, I don't understand why it's not detachable USB C or not on the other side. Also, handling that cord is beyond test (awfully stiff and won't lodge).
Metal
It doesn't overheat
Whoever made that steam deck never had
Fixed cable that is difficult to handle
Blocks ventilation
Fixed, stiff cable that crunches when handled
It's a good thing, but the steam deck in the title is just a marketing ploy
The Steam Deck has to be moved or it will clog the ventilation, just move it and as someone here wrote that he cut something etc. that's nonsense, just move the steam deck to the edge, it doesn't fall off, the steam deck still sticks when it's on the edge of the docking station. It's all solid aluminium, I didn't expect it to be such a solid piece. Well, we'll see how it goes in time.
A solid piece of aluminium
Sufficient number of USB
Fast connection
Steam Deck has to be moved or it will clog the ventilation
The development team is probably a young group of people who do not attach much importance to the cooling of the device - out of the box, the support part is covered with grey rubber and its dimensions noticeably change the space for cooling air intake at the steamdeck at 4 of the 6 holes. Some gap will remain, but you can put the steamdeck there by completely plugging the 4 cooling holes.
I did not test the effect on the cooling performance of the steamdeck - after testing the functionality after el. I cut off a piece of the support part and so far it works without problems
after cutting off 4.5 cm of the support part, the functionality and compatibility with the steamdeck is fine
nonsensical design of the air intake in the back right part for the steamdeck, I don't understand how someone can design this.
