On Linux Mint 22.2 everything worked from the beginning.
Connect cables from pwr, reset, hdd etc. into their special connector was a bit of a pain. The description of the pins on the board was rather appreciated.
Great board. I just struggled at first with the Bluetooth not working. I have my computer connected to the net by cable, so I left the wifi antenna in the box. Only afterwards I found out that Bluetooth without antenna doesn't work.
A modern AM5 board with an excellent price/performance ratio, ideal for gamers, makers and tech enthusiasts. It offers DDR5 support up to 8000 MHz, a trio of M.2 slots, Wi-Fi 6E, USB-C Gen 2x2 and a solid power cascade for powerful Ryzens. A great choice for building a powerful PC without paying extra for the X670E. The board has three M.2 slots M.2_1 PCIe 5.0 ×4 up to 128 Gb/s top slot (closest to the CPU)fastest NVMe SSD. M.2_2 PCIe 4.0 ×4 up to 64 Gb/s mid-slot common NVMe SSD. M.2_3 PCIe 4.0 ×4 up to 64 Gb/s bottom slot second drive, gaming library, backup. RAM up to 8000 MHz requires manual settings in BIOS, but the board can handle it. Compatible with most coolers, but high quality air or AIO cooling is recommended for extreme loads. The Gigabyte B650 AORUS Elite AX V2 is an excellent choice for users who want a modern AM5 platform without paying extra for the X670E. It offers plenty of power, connectors and features for both gaming and work setups. If you don't mind weaker sound and somewhat limited software, you get a reliable board with excellent DDR5, PCIe 4.0 and Wi-Fi 6E support Who is it ideal for?
For users who want performance and stability without unnecessary extras
For building a gaming or work PC with Ryzen 7000/8000/9000
For those who appreciate fast SSDs, modern connectivity and wireless connectivity
DDR5 support up to 8000 MHz - exceptional in this price range
3× M.2 slots - plenty of space for fast NVMe SSDs
Wi-Fi 6E + Bluetooth 5.2 - stable wireless connection, antenna included
Plenty of USB ports - including USB-C Gen 2 on the back and Gen 2x2 on the front
ARGB and fan connectors - 5×4-pin, sufficient for most configurations
Easy BIOS and driver installation
Gigabyte Control Center software for RGB and monitoring
Only 5 fan connectors - hub required for larger enclosures
Weaker integrated sound (ALC897) - sufficient for normal use, but audiophiles will reach for an external DAC
PCIe slots with limited lanes - lower slots have only ×1 lane, not suitable for some expansion cards
It does what it is supposed to do, the instructions on the internet have everything needed for home assembly. Two little things I found on youtube, so cool.
The base for me is excellent. It is the only one in its price class that supports fast RAM up to 8000 Mhz but you need to enable it in the bios. In case you have a big box like me (LianLi O11 Dynamic EVO XL) and you plan more than 5 fans, you need to buy a PIN splitter (on AKASA PWM FAN Splitter). The plate has a max. 5 4-pin slots for fans.
3x PCI Express
3x M.2 slot for SSDs
the only board in the price range supporting ramps up to 8000 MHz
the other two PCI slots have only one lane, almost nothing in them will work well
The QNAP TL-400S SAS card does not work in it - not enough lanes in the slot apparently
