Thus, it can be discharged up to 7x 0.9 = 6.3 V. Sometimes it is better to charge the battery when it gets to about 7V, this will prevent undercharging of one of the cells.
Because of the number of cells in the series (7), there is an increased risk of imbalance and damage to one of the cells due to discharge below the lowest safe voltage (0.9V). In other words, if you don't know how to handle rechargeable batteries, then they are disposable batteries.
