I wanted a capable portable speaker and was deciding between the Flip 7 and the Grip. In the end, the Flip 7 won (costing about 800 Kč more) and it was worth it – unlike the Grip, it has a separate woofer and tweeter, and you can really tell. It sounds fantastic for its size. I have the Charge 3 and four other Niceboy and Sencor speakers (with similar power) to compare it to, and this is on another level sound-wise. Of course, this is a comparison with a slightly different price category, but I'm looking at it more in terms of power and size/build type. I was originally also considering the older generation, but that was only available from around 2,200 and only in small shops, and when this was on offer for 2,500, it was a no-brainer. The default EQ has the typical "V" shape, but of course, it can be adjusted in the app, making it usable for basically any kind of music. Definitely don't count on the advertised battery life; that only applies to light and quiet genres. As soon as there's more bass, the battery life drops quickly. Furthermore, you can turn off Bluetooth and play losslessly via a cable (USB-C), and most importantly, it draws power from the connected device and not its own battery – ideal for use at home, for example on a desk with a computer.
Brilliant sound (especially considering the size)
For normal listening at home (up to 50% volume) it really lasts for ~10h, but it depends on the genre.
Can't even be compared with the competition in a similar class (30–40W).
Total high price
Above ~80% volume the bass is weaker (you can't cheat physics)
At higher volumes, the power consumption is quite crazy (which is understandable)
The battery percentage can only be checked in the app or very roughly on the speaker body.

I’ve just switched from the Flip 5 and I have to say I was expecting a bigger difference. If I were listening as normal, I probably wouldn’t even have noticed the change. At higher volumes, the difference is noticeable. I had to fiddle with the equaliser a bit, though, to be satisfied. I adjusted the bass settings directly in the phone’s system and selected the ‘Energetic’ profile in the JBL app.
