The oil from grilling gets over the edge of the grill plate and flows into the grill, where it can be reached by unscrewing the entire plate. If you don' t clean it, this oil will come out of the grill whenever you tilt it.
The oil drawer is short and the oil from the top plate drips onto the table when it is opened.
