The Meze 99 are priced in the lower mid-range, but they sound better than much more expensive headphones. They have a clearly delineated sound. There's no sub-bass band here, which would make for a lot of other headphones' typical muddy bass. Most owners would consider you a fool if you said the Meze 99's have inadequate bass, and that's partly what I'm saying. Meze 99 are no bass kings, they are more like princes. They have a quality and well-drawn bass that won't blow your ears off, but with the rest of the sound spectrum they create a full, complete sound that is hard to rival. The 99 limits are supposed to have a characteristic of their tuning to the so-called. V - amplified bass, softened mids and amplified highs. I disagree with this - Wednesdays stand out the most here. If we characterize the mids as a space for vocals and instruments, then for me Meze 99 absolutely excels here. There is an incredible quality and cleanliness that absolutely stands out above everything else. The highs as a space for sound details also excel here and there is nothing to fault them. Unfortunately, to enjoy the best listening experience, you need lossless music - Deezer, Tidal, Apple Music, Spotify - these music services offer the highest quality music, and you desperately need that. YouTube and YT Music are not playing at the highest quality and it shows. It was as if the headphones suddenly fell into the abyss of mediocre listening. What pleased me is that you get good quality sound even with lesser quality (say, ordinary computer sound cards) sound cards. The important thing is to always play around with the equalizer (I recommend PEACE EQ) for the best subjective listening experience. Each successive song in the sequence creates a unique experience thanks to headphones that play all frequencies. Sometimes the bass is absolutely emphatic, sometimes not so much in the foreground, if we are talking mainly about electronic music. In my opinion, the headphones are best suited for POP and ROCK, but in general they can play everything with excellent sound clarity.

I just wanted closed back headphones because I'm going to share my office with my girlfriend. All open backs are unfortunately out, due to noise. I was quite focused on ANC at first and ordered, for example, Bose QuietComfort Ultra. But I found out that ANC doesn't help me that much and the headphones sound at 1/3 of the price level. So I decided to go the way of the classic wire ones. After various comparisons I ended up with MEZE. I solved the wirelessness through FiiO BTR15 and honestly, I don't solve the missing ANC because I use those headphones only during music. And when they play, you don't hear anything, but nothing at all. Honestly, I didn't expect much for 4700kc. But I was pleasantly surprised by the quality in everything. For example, the packaging is completely different league against the mentioned bose (headphones over 12 thousand! ). The sound is delicious and the posobies are quite balanced. But it is not neutral. The musicality is still there. Headphones are fun. Don't expect studios at this price point. And frankly, most people probably don't even want neutrality at that level. So in my opinion, these headphones deliver a well-balanced sound, still musical enough. You don't need to use EQ. So far I haven't noticed a style of music that doesn't suit them. But I don't hear, for example, Jazz. I've heard it might not quite fit them. But it's all subjective and you just have to try it. I definitely wouldn't rate these headphones based on price. If MEZE can do this for 4700, I'm definitely aiming for their top tire and I want to try it. If there's a shift in sound comparable to the current one, I'll be blown away: )
Gorgeous sound separation
For being closed back, I don't feel any worse than open back headphones - I have several at home and for example AKG K92 desktop headphones play better on all levels (even bass). Emotionally probably 2-3 times better
