It's as if it calculates the illumination of the image proportionally, not point or face. It would be great if it darkened the image to make the face OK, at the cost of the rest of the room being in darkness. Here it's the opposite, the face is overexposed and the rest of the room is clearly visible even in the gloom. But that's only if there are two LCD panels shining on you. Otherwise, it's fine.
