Updating the BIOS is a bit strange, especially if you do it through MSI Center or MSI Dragon Center, updating through these programs often destroys the board, once it happened to me on an older B550 Tomahawk board from MSI, it was then totally unusable, so beware, you just need to go to MSI's website and find the bios for your board, format the flash drive to FAT32 and drop the bios folder in there and then put M-FLASH in the bios and everything will be fine.
