I was buying the phone as a present, and the main aim was to find a worthy successor to my ageing Samsung Galaxy S20+. I have to say that this model meets the criteria for a top mark. Although this is the A series, the system’s responsiveness, the quality of the display and the camera easily keep pace with what users were used to with the older S series, and in many respects the phone has even surprised us thanks to newer technologies and a better battery. As a present, it was definitely a hit, and I can recommend it with a clear conscience to anyone looking for a reliable phone that will last for several years to come.

I’ve switched from an older Galaxy A, and the difference is very noticeable. The A57 is much more responsive, faster and has advanced features (including AI, for example). I’d definitely recommend it – I’m very satisfied. I’m a bit disappointed about the memory card slot, but I suppose that’s not really the done thing these days. Otherwise, it’s a classic, user-friendly Samsung, which is also quite light. And for me, it even has a decent camera.
The A57 is the latest addition to my A5x collection. The sizes fit me better than the Ultra. Such a great balance between price and functionality. For 10k, I’ll replace it with a new one every 2 to 4 years when the battery starts to die. I’m quickly transferring my data and happily carrying on. I bought my last one in August 2022, so the A5x has lasted a good four years. The only thing missing is wireless charging, but then it really would have everything.
