I had the buds3 and I decided to get the buds 4, but I use both of them only for the spoken word as second headphones. The open design is great for long wearing and for perceiving your surroundings. Forget the ANC function, only BOSE QuietComfort can do that. It's not really for music. You can't talk about bases. As a second headphone for long wearing and listening to podcasts/audiobooks and in quiet environments ideal.
