I got a new graphics card already for my old ryzen 5 3600 processor that I have from 2020. What I have to say is that it still pulls very decently even this 2025 graphics. I play kcd2 at 1440p on ultra details and it's totally fine over 60fps. When you turn on FG, you get 140 fps and when you have a monitor with 180hz it's just a beautiful experience.
The initial launch with the new graphics was quite disappointing. I did a standard DDU in safe mode, installed new graphics including drivers and still had random BSOD (blue death) even in idle mode. So I replaced the already limp 520w power supply from Seasonic with weaker efficiency, because the delivered power was already on the edge and in peak hours it could be harassing. Didn't help. Only a Bios update of my Asus Tuf Gaming b560m-PLUS board in combination with i5-11400f solved the problem. But a complete layman might not be able to handle it. Of course, I had the original, 4-year-old version of the Bios. Otherwise, I'm absolutely happy with the card and the performance increase over the rx 580 is dramatic. I recommend everyone to sort it out while the prices are OK.
due to the expected increase in price of graphics in general I bought now and do not regret. if it consumes 50W more than an nVidia, I'm absolutely fine with that. With the Ryzen 7 5700X3D CPU I see this as a very good combination. Running in an AM4 / PCI-e 3.0 x16 board.
performance within its class
low noise level
great for the money
16GB = future advantage
9 year old FarCry6 can nail it in 2K/ultra detail
In the mentioned game once a complete image lock, maybe just a bug in the drivers, after that always ok ( never a problem with previous graphics)
