The A7iii is a camera of compromises years after its introduction, but these are balanced by a good price for an FF (bought on sale) and still excellent photo and video quality at this price level and class. A7iv is better in many aspects, but it is a question whether the price difference corresponds to it and whether the photographer will take advantage of the advantages - there are many comparisons on the Internet, everyone can judge for himself. I was buying it as a complement to the Nikon Z6ii for video production, which in my opinion is better processed and a generation newer in feel (and fact). After a full day of shooting on the Nikon, unpacking the A7iii was a bit of a shock. To sum it all up, if the buyer knows all the negatives and positives of the A7iii, it is still an excellent camera after all these years, which will not get lost even in professional work. Although it may seem slightly archaic at times, it does its main job 100%. For better video and photo there are other models (S, R series), for the latest technology also (A7iv). If you are new to photography/video, you will find everything you need here. I wanted to try the E-Mount and although Nikons will still be the primary equipment for now (replacement was not even the intention), I am completely satisfied and positively surprised. Mj. I recommend you at least take a look at the 20mm f2.8 Tamron - a lot of fun for relatively little money.

Worse grip, but this is more a feature of most mirrorless cameras. Grip is not a necessity, but when switching from mirror (D750, D850, etc. ) will surprise you. Today I see it as a positive.
The resolution of the displays, however, can get used to and does not hinder the work. Absolutely fine for checking photos.
More expensive Sony premium lenses, but nothing significant compared to the competition.
Not having a top status display is not a negative, but a feature. Main touch only for focus (even when shooting through the viewfinder).
The absence of a charger, i.e. out of the box, it charges via USB. The cover gets in the way when you put the camera down.
I don't have much confidence in the caps in general, they are made of harder plastic and I imagine that after years the beaks will fall off. For the standard user who will not regularly open for external peripherals.
The iOS app connects, works, but the video transfer speed is poor. The image is choppy, definitely not usable as a preview monitor for sharpening. But it's enough to check the composition and start shooting.
