A bit of a disappointment at Tescom. The design is great, the materials themselves also look good, some details have functional logic (e.g. that the drops accidentally running from the beak on the glass do not run into the metal sleeve), but at the same time I see several nonsensical inventions. For me the two biggest shortcomings - the piston cannot be pushed to the bottom (resp. stays too high), which is not really user-friendly, unless you want to make 2 or maybe even 3 large (200ml) coffees at the same time (for tea I don't think it would matter), because then not only the lye stays under the strainer, but also the water and it "drips" instead of flowing. The second thing is that the glass container can theoretically be removed and put in the dishwasher, but you don't want to do it very often, because the glass is clamped by a metal sleeve, which is otherwise very successful in design, but inevitably sooner or later the container will be scratched (the clamping is logically quite tight, so it will be sooner), so I would probably not think about washing in the dishwasher in practice, more like once in a while and only the glass container. Compared to other "better" French presses, I found it weaker that the metal sieve on the plunger is not double and after less than a month of almost daily use I already notice wear in some places. I can't say that I'm completely dissatisfied, there are definitely reservations and overall I would rate it as in school - it's a "good" French press, i.e. for three.
Definitely the design.
Removable glass container suitable for dishwasher.
Probably better for tea than coffee.
The materials themselves (glass, metal and plastic) are quite convincing and of high quality.
The plunger stays quite high above the bottom of the container when pushed to the maximum (about 2-3 cm) - not quite suitable for less than two large coffees (even those two are on the edge - it takes at least six heaping spoonfuls of coffee).
Only one wire screen on the piston
The dishwasher option is limited.
It is not entirely appropriate to remove the glass container from the metal sleeve very often.
I would add a line for the amount of water (in millilitres) e.g. instead of the dull inscriptions in about ten languages on the glass container by the handle, informing that the container is "suitable for hot drinks". I almost think Tescoma thinks we're assholes: )
