Since we have had an Ubiquiti AC LR AP for over 10 years, it has been working perfectly and still receives updates (! ), the choice was easy when you needed to extend your home Wi-Fi. Ubiquti again. Adding to the Unify ecosystem is quick and easy, no need to set up anything from scratch. Nor is there a need for anything more powerful, more expensive, faster for the home - the limiting factor remains the internet connection.
I kept the original AC LR AP to cover the weaker spot, but even there the coverage is better with the new AP and with higher connection speed. WiFi 7, albeit dual-band in this case, makes sense. On the one hand, it supports the standard of power supply via a regular PoE switch - 48V, on the other hand, you can no longer use the power supply from older devices that run on 24V.

The whole unifi system is great. I had it already - gateway, switch, several APs. And as soon as they were no longer supported, I switched to a cheaper solution from another supplier. However, after a couple of years I'm changing again and investing in unifi, because it's more reliable, much more possibilities of settings. I'm more of a wire fan, but the quality of wifi connection that unifi APs have, so I don't mind wireless. Super stats in the controller.
