Seagate Exos X14 10TB Standard FastFormat SATA

The Seagate Exos X14 10TB Standard FastFormat SATA hard disk belongs among the high load internal HDDs for NAS and ordinary data centres. The 3.5" format is designed primarily for desktop computers and data centres. One of the most important characteristics is clearly the number of revolutions per minute (RPM). The 7200 RPM RPM delivers better system response across the board. The hard disk provides a storage capacity of 10000 GB. The storage uses a 256 MB memory cache. You can link the Seagate hard drive and a computer or other device takes place using the SATA III interface.

Seagate Exos X14 10TB Standard FastFormat SATA Hard Disk Key Features

  • Read speed up to 261 MB/s and write speed up to 261 MB/s
  • 256 MB memory cache
  • Seagate 3.5" drive for ordinary drive bays
  • Power consumption under standard load is 10 W, while in stand-by mode it makes 5 W
  • You can connect it to a PC or other devices through the SATA III interface
  • Although standard HDDs are a tad more fragile due to their mechanical parts, but they offer a great storage capacity/performance ratio

Other Hard Disk Features

Platter hard disks have a notably special construction. Inside the drive there is a mechanism with moving platters, complete with hard disk heads that read and write the data. These mechanical parts don't take shocks and impact well, but at the same time you get a great combo of a low price and great storage capacity. The important parameter that determines the speed of a HDD is the number of revolutions per minute (RPM). With the Seagate Exos X14 10TB Standard FastFormat SATA, you would get 7200 RPM revolutions per minute. This should delight the more demanding users, for example video editors, graphic artists, people who play PC games, and everybody else who deal with large amounts of data. System responsivity and stability is also influenced by the disk buffer, usually called cache. The Seagate hard drive features a 256 MB cache that stores the last used data for their prompt retrieval and reading.

Connecting the Seagate HDD

In order to mount the Seagate Exos X14 10TB Standard FastFormat SATA in your laptop or other device, it requires a 3.5" slot. All data transfer happens via the SATA III interface with a standard speed of 6 Gbit/s. This technology is one of the most popular HDD data transfer options available and delivers a throughput of 600 MB/s.
