Seagate IronWolf Pro 4TB CMR
The Seagate IronWolf Pro 4TB CMR hard disk belongs among the high load internal HDDs for NAS and ordinary data centres. The 3.5" format is designed primarily for desktop PCs and data centres. One of the main characteristics is undoubtedly the rotational speed. The 7200 RPM RPM ensures improved system performance and faster data transfer. You can look forward to a total data capacity of 4000 GB. The storage has a 256 MB memory cache. The data transfer between the Seagate hard disk and the PC or other devices takes place via the SATA III interface.
Seagate IronWolf Pro 4TB CMR HDD Key Features
- Read speed up to 220 MB/s and write speed up to 220 MB/s

- Standard power consumption is 9 W, while in stand-by mode it makes 1 W
- The data transfer is facilitated using the SATA III interface
- RAID support allows for improved data loss prevention
Other HDD Features
The HDD boasts a unique design. Inside the enclosure there is a mechanism that uses moving platters, complete with hard disk heads that read and write the data. These moving parts are not particularly resistant against shock or impact, but on the upside, this design also delivers an excellent price/storage capacity ratio. The crucial criterion that affects the speed of a HDD is the number of revolutions per minute (RPM). With the Seagate IronWolf Pro 4TB CMR, you can look forward to 7200 RPM revolutions per minute. This should delight the more demanding users, such as graphic or video editors - in short, people who work with large amounts of data. Data transmission and overall stability is also affected by the disk buffer - the so-called cache. The Seagate hard drive includes a 256 MB cache that stores the last data inputs for their prompt retrieval and reading.
Connecting the Seagate Hard Disk
In order to mount the Seagate IronWolf Pro 4TB CMR in your computer or other device, you need a 3.5" slot. The communication between the HDD and PC is done via the SATA III interface with a standard speed of 6 Gbit/s. The technology is one of the best HDD data transfer options available and delivers a speed of 600 MB/s.
