Speed and wireless connectivity
This WiFi system operates on three frequency bands, dividing the total transfer capacity for optimal throughput. In the 2.4GHz band, it offers speeds up to 400Mb/s, while in the two 5GHz bands, it provides speeds of 867Mb/s for each. The integrated MU-MIMO technology and 2×2 MIMO antennas enable simultaneous communication with multiple client devices without a drop in network performance. The Smart Connect function automatically switches connected phones and computers to the most suitable frequency band available.
Mesh network for reliable coverage
The device supports 802.11k/v/r standards for seamless roaming, letting users move around the house without interrupting downloads or video calls. The created mesh network operates under a single name and can self-heal by finding an alternative path if one node fails. The system can handle up to 90 simultaneously connected devices and, in purely wireless mode, allows for expansion with up to 6 additional access points.
Advanced security
Data transfer protection is ensured by the latest WPA3 encryption standard, along with an integrated firewall and support for VPN servers like SSL VPN and Site-to-Site IPsec VPN. The Safe Access system integrates advanced parental controls, letting you create user profiles and define time quotas. Network security is enhanced by the direct integration of Google Safe Browsing and the Threat Intelligence database, which block access to malicious websites.
Connectivity options
The back of the device offers physical ports for a stable wired network connection. There is one gigabit WAN port for internet input and one gigabit LAN port for local devices. A fast USB 3.2 Gen 1 port enables connection of an external drive for file sharing on the network or backing up via Apple Time Machine.
