Technics SL-40CBT Grey

Technics SL-40CBT Grey
The SL-40CBT turntable has inherited Technics' proven coreless direct drive system and is tuned for a modern lifestyle – with a compact body, Bluetooth connectivity, and a stylish wooden finish. The turntable is made of MDF, a wood-based material with fine layers of fibres. Instantly connect to wireless speakers or headphones thanks to the built-in Bluetooth. With the included cartridge and built-in phono pre-amp, which are precisely matched for optimal performance, you just need to connect active speakers or an amplifier with passive speakers. The Technics direct drive ensures precise rotation and maintenance-free operation. This mechanism, which directly rotates the platter with high torque, has been developed to offer even greater precision thanks to a coreless motor.

Sound reproduction from the record
Although the size of the tonearm base is minimised, the tonearm's design retains the traditional S-shape and ensures high tracking performance thanks to precision engineering. The package includes an Audio-Technica AT-VM95C cartridge with a conical stylus, which provides a clean sound.
Drive, stability and rotational accuracy
Stable rotation and precise torque control is achieved thanks to the 1.26kg die-cast aluminium platter with reinforced ribs and a directly mounted motor magnet. Excellent vibration resistance and reduced noise are achieved with newly tuned insulators. The rubber hardness is optimised to shift resonance outside the audible range. Digital control elevates rotational accuracy to the highest level through precise speed detection, individual unit calibration during manufacturing, and digitally optimised motor drive signals.
Signal processing and sound purity
Separate printed circuit boards (PCBs) for the power supply, motor control, and phono equaliser are located away from the tonearm with non-crossing wiring. This minimises sound distortion. The built-in MM phono equaliser, optimally tuned to the supplied cartridge, along with premium components and chassis, provides clear sound with minimal noise.
