The Ubiquiti WiFi antenna is used for outdoor wireless data transmission over long distances, with a range of over 100km. Directional Properties, Construction Durability and Mounting
The directional design with a 23dBi gain concentrates the radiated power into a narrow 30-degree beam. The dual polarisation of the integrated transmitter helps to suppress surrounding interference and noise on the wireless path. The device operates in PtP Master or Slave modes at a distance of up to 100km with a direct line of sight. The transmission frequency accuracy is ± 2.5ppm without GPS synchronisation. The outdoor unit achieves an IP67 rating after installing the included upgrade kit. The construction reliably withstands ambient temperatures ranging from -40 to 55°C in harsh weather conditions. The mounting system supports attachment to airFiber X mounts or compatible Rocket mount systems. The package also includes a special GPS pole mount for precise time synchronisation, and the entire unit weighs 0.4kg.
Transmission Parameters, Power and Interface
The system uses the 5GHz band for data transmission with a channel width of up to 100MHz. The wireless link with WiFi 5 technology provides a real throughput of over 1Gbps for demanding backbone connections. AES-256 encryption protects the transmitted data from unauthorised access. An external GPS antenna with a magnetic base synchronises the transmission cycles. Physical network connection is provided by two gigabit RJ45 Ethernet ports with a speed of 1Gbps. Power is supplied by the included passive PoE adapter with a voltage of 24V and a current of 1A, which is part of the package. The power consumption of the entire device does not exceed 12W during normal operation. The supported DC input voltage range is from 18 to 54V DC.
