Ubiquiti Swiss Army Knife Omni Antenna
Ubiquiti Swiss Army Knife Omni Antenna
The Ubiquiti WiFi antenna is used to extend the wireless signal coverage in the 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands. This element connects to the Swiss Army Knife Ultra access point using an RP-SMA connector. The IP66-rated design withstands outdoor weather conditions. The omnidirectional radiation pattern spreads the signal at a 360° angle and increases the network range in open spaces. The body of the antenna is a combination of thermoplastic polyester elastomer, polycarbonate, polybutylene terephthalate and polyoxymethylene. These materials protect the internal components from rain and dust. The IP66 rating prevents water ingress even during heavy rain.
Key Features of the Ubiquiti Swiss Army Knife Omni Antenna WiFi Antenna
- The radiation angle is 360°
- Gain in the 5GHz band is 4dBi
- Gain in the 2.4GHz band is 3dBi
- The IP66 rating protects the body from adverse weather
- The weight of one pair is 42g
- The body dimensions are 15.4 × 1.5 × 1.5cm
- Dual polarisation stabilises the wireless connection
Dual-Band Operation
The antenna operates simultaneously in the 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands, which complies with the 802.11ac standard. The gain in the 5GHz band is 4dBi and in the 2.4GHz band it is 3dBi. The device physically transmits a high-frequency signal for connected clients. This accessory is useful when building outdoor access points.
Omnidirectional Coverage
The 360° radiation angle covers a circular area around the transmitter with no dead spots. Dual polarisation improves the stability of the wireless connection in a congested environment. RP-SMA connectors facilitate the connection to a compatible base station. The mounting kit included in the package makes the physical attachment of the entire assembly easy.
