The Ajax MotionCam HDR (PhOD) Jeweller wireless motion sensor combines motion detection with photographic alarm verification. The PIR sensor, with a range of up to 12 metres, uses the SmartDetect algorithm for precise motion detection and to reduce false alarms. The detector can be remotely controlled and photos can be taken via the Ajax app.

Photographic alarm verification with HDR technology
The Ajax MotionCam HDR (PhOD) Jeweller uses a built-in camera with a CMOS image sensor and High Dynamic Range (HDR) technology to take photos during security events. HDR combines images with different exposures, preserving details in both light and dark areas of the picture and improving colour and contrast. Infrared illumination also enables photography in low-light conditions. Through the Ajax app, you can take a photo on demand or set up automatic shooting when another device triggers an alarm, according to a scenario, or on a schedule.
Precise motion detection and false alarm reduction
The motion sensor uses a PIR sensor from Excelitas Technologies and a specially designed Fresnel lens, which helps to distinguish between the thermal characteristics of people, animals, and the surrounding environment. The SmartDetect algorithm continuously analyses the intensity of the infrared radiation, the size of the thermal object, the speed of movement, and how long it is in the detection area. Software-based temperature compensation adjusts the evaluation of the PIR sensor data according to the ambient temperature, maintaining detection efficiency across the entire operating temperature range. When installed at a height of 2.4 metres and with the lens correctly aimed, the detector can reduce false alarms caused by animals weighing up to 20kg and up to 50cm tall.
Wireless communication, security and easy installation
The detector communicates with the Ajax hub or range extender via the Jeweller and Wings wireless protocols, which support encrypted two-way data transmission. Security features include a tamper contact, protection against device spoofing, and detection of jamming or loss of communication. Automatic diagnostics continuously check the power status, communication, and sensor. Installation is made easy with the SmartBracket panel, and the device is added to the system by scanning a QR code via the Ajax app. The detector can be configured remotely and its pre-installed CR123A batteries can be replaced at the end of their life.
