The APC Back-UPS 650VA protects your home electronics and small office setups. With its offline topology, it provides an apparent power of 650VA and a real power of 400W, which is enough to power a standard computer and monitor. This uninterruptible power supply keeps connected devices running for 2 minutes and 44 seconds at full load, while this time is extended at half load. The interface features eight French sockets to power a wide range of peripherals, with six providing full backup and two offering surge protection only. The inclusion of a USB port and PowerChute software expands its functionality with controlled system shutdown.

This uninterruptible power supply with offline topology provides an apparent power of 650VA and a real power of 400W. It achieves 80% efficiency at full load, which contributes to lower energy consumption. At a 400W load, it keeps devices running for 2 minutes and 44 seconds; at half load, the backup time extends to approximately 5–6 minutes.

Battery and protection

It contains a 12V lead-acid battery with a capacity of 7Ah, which fully charges in 6 hours. The battery is easily replaceable by the user, simplifying maintenance without the need for professional servicing. Protection includes integrated surge protection with an energy absorption of 310J and protection against deep battery discharge. It is not possible to connect external battery modules.

Management and software

A USB A communication port is used for management and monitoring. When connected to a computer, modern operating systems automatically recognise the UPS for basic power management. For advanced features, you can download the PowerChute Serial Shutdown software. This tool for controlled system shutdown prevents the loss of unsaved data and file system damage during a prolonged power outage. The software monitors the battery status and safely shuts down the computer when necessary.

Connectivity and sockets

A fixed cable with a French/Belgian plug provides connection to the mains. To power your devices, it offers a total of eight output sockets of the same type. Six sockets are fully battery-backed and also protected against surges, while the remaining two sockets provide only surge protection for less critical devices.
