APC Back-UPS Connect 12 V, 36 W, 3 A

APC Back-UPS Connect 12 V, 36 W, 3 A
The APC Back-UPS Connect is a compact mini UPS that functions as a DC UPS for providing an uninterrupted power supply to 12V network devices. With an output of 36W, this compact backup power supply for routers, switches or IP cameras keeps your key network infrastructure running even during a power cut. Thanks to its line-interactive topology and modern lithium-ion battery, it provides a stable power supply and long backup time, specifically 62 minutes at half load, which is enough time to bridge common outages. Its discreet design, measuring 25 × 99 × 109mm and weighing 0.3kg, makes it easy to install directly next to the protected device without taking up much space.
Key features of the APC Back-UPS Connect 12V, 36W, 3A
- Uses line-interactive topology with automatic voltage regulation (AVR)
- Contains a lithium-ion battery with deep discharge protection
- User-replaceable battery
- Compact design for easy installation
- Designed to power 12V network components, such as routers and IP cameras
- Includes a set of interchangeable DC tips for wide compatibility
- Provides surge protection for the connected device
Performance and topology
The APC Back-UPS Connect operates on the principle of line-interactive topology with integrated automatic voltage regulation (AVR). This technology actively stabilises input voltage fluctuations without switching to battery power, thus saving battery capacity for actual power cuts. The actual power output of the supply is 36W and its efficiency at 100% load reaches 90%. The backup time at full load is 1800 seconds (30 minutes), while at half load the time extends to 3720 seconds (62 minutes), providing plenty of time for power to be restored.
Battery and integrated protection features
At the heart of the APC Back-UPS Connect 12V is a modern lithium-ion (Li-Ion) battery, which offers higher energy density and a longer lifespan compared to traditional lead-acid batteries. The battery is also user-replaceable, which simplifies maintenance at the end of its life. A full charge cycle takes approximately 9 hours. The integrated electronics protect connected devices with surge protection and also guard the battery itself from damage due to deep discharge, thereby extending its overall lifespan.
Operation and physical design
Operation of the APC Back-UPS Connect 12V is fully autonomous and requires no complex configuration or software installation. The device does not include communication interfaces such as USB or a serial port for management and monitoring. The design focuses on "plug-and-play" simplicity. Thanks to its compact dimensions and low weight, it can be easily placed behind a desk, next to a router or mounted on a wall. The operating temperature ranges from 0–40°C, which is suitable for standard office and home conditions.
Connection options
Both the input and output of the DC UPS use a standard 12V DC connector. A single 12V DC output, capable of delivering up to 3A, is used to power the protected device. A key element for flexible use is the included set of interchangeable DC tips of various sizes. This set expands compatibility with a wide range of network devices from different manufacturers, such as internet routers, Wi-Fi access points, switches or IP security cameras, so you don't have to worry about incompatible power connectors.
