The APC Smart-UPS 1500VA LCD 230V with SmartConnect is a line-interactive UPS that protects servers, network components and other sensitive electronics. It delivers a real power output of 1000W with an apparent power of 1500VA. At full load, it powers connected devices for 6.5 minutes, while at half load this time extends to 23 minutes and 4 seconds. The integrated Automatic Voltage Regulation (AVR) stabilises fluctuating input voltage within a wide range of 151–302V without switching to the battery. The output voltage is a pure sine wave, which is essential for the correct operation of modern power supplies and motors. With the SmartConnect port and PowerChute software, it offers advanced remote monitoring and automated power management.

Performance and voltage stabilisation

The backup power supply operates with a line-interactive topology. Its key feature is Automatic Voltage Regulation (AVR), which actively corrects undervoltage and overvoltage within the 151–302V input range without switching to the battery, thereby extending its life. The real power output reaches 1000W with an apparent power of 1500VA. The stable 230V output voltage contributes to the protection and reliable operation of connected electronics.

Battery and protection

Inside is a lead-acid, hot-swappable RBC7 battery that fully charges in 3 hours. The cold-start feature starts the UPS even without mains power. The device provides 459J surge protection and continuous multi-pole noise filtering to remove interference from the electrical grid. Network line protection (RJ-45) prevents damage to network devices from surges coming through the data line.

Management and monitoring

The key element is the SmartConnect port, which provides access to cloud-based monitoring via a standard Ethernet connection without the need to install additional hardware. The PowerChute Serial Shutdown software manages the safe, automatic shutdown of systems and servers during a prolonged power outage. The clear multi-function LCD on the front panel displays all important operating statuses, measured values, and any alarms, making local diagnostics and unit configuration easier.

Connectivity and sockets

For connecting loads, there are eight IEC C13 output sockets and two IEC Jumper cables. The mains power input uses a standard IEC C14 connector. For communication and management, the supply offers USB and serial ports. The SmartSlot expansion slot allows for the connection of an optional network card, which adds advanced network management capabilities.
