The APC Smart-UPS 3000VA rack-mountable backup power supply is a line-interactive UPS that protects servers, storage, and network components from power failures. With a real power output of 2700W and an apparent power of 3000VA, it provides plenty of capacity for critical infrastructure. The integrated automatic voltage regulation (AVR) function adjusts for mains fluctuations without needing to switch to battery power. At full load, it keeps connected devices running for 3 minutes and 11 seconds, while at half load, this time extends to 11 minutes and 28 seconds. This rack-mountable backup power supply for servers integrates a SmartConnect port for cloud-based management and status monitoring from anywhere. Its 2U design saves space in the data rack, and with dimensions of 86 × 432 × 683mm and a weight of 44.28kg, it integrates easily into existing infrastructure. Performance and power protection

This line-interactive backup power supply delivers a pure sine wave output to power sensitive electronics. The automatic voltage regulation (AVR) feature actively stabilises the input voltage, correcting both undervoltage and overvoltage without engaging the battery, which extends its life and maintains consistent performance. The device protects connected equipment from power spikes and surges with an absorption energy of 320J.

Battery and backup time

At the heart of the power supply is the RBC43 lead-acid battery, which fully charges in just 3 hours. It is hot-swappable, eliminating the need for downtime for protected devices. Backup time is a key parameter. At a full load of 2700W, it is 3 minutes and 11 seconds. At a half load of 1350W, the time extends to 11 minutes and 28 seconds, providing enough time to safely complete operations and shut down systems.

Remote management and software

USB and RS-232 ports are used for communication and management. However, the main feature is the integrated SmartConnect Ethernet port, which provides access to a cloud portal for remote monitoring. This lets you check the UPS status, receive proactive email alerts, and perform firmware updates without being physically present. For more advanced networking features, a SmartSlot is available for installing an optional Network Management Card.

Connectivity and sockets

The input power is flexible thanks to the included cables with IEC C20, BS1363A, and Schuko connectors. For connecting loads, it offers eight IEC C13 output sockets and one high-current IEC C19 socket. Three IEC Jumper cables are also included.
