The device supports up to four hard drives or SSDs and offers a wide range of software applications for file management, automatic synchronisation and protection of sensitive user data.

High hardware performance
At the heart of the device is a quad-core Intel Celeron N5105 processor with a 2GHz frequency and the ability to automatically boost up to 2.9GHz. The 4GB of DDR4 system RAM operates at a frequency of 2933MHz and can be user-upgraded to a total capacity of 16GB if needed. This hardware configuration ensures a fast response from the ADM operating system and smooth processing of multiple processes at once under heavy load.
Network connection
The storage offers two 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet ports that support SMB Multichannel technology. When both ports are connected, sequential read speeds reach up to 564MB/s and write speeds reach up to 551MB/s, significantly reducing transfer times for large volumes of data. Users can take advantage of the high-speed connection without needing to install expensive 10GbE network elements on their local network.
Combined storage with NVMe slots
The design combines four bays for standard hard drives or SSDs with a SATA interface and four dedicated slots for fast M.2 NVMe SSDs. These slots are used for accelerating disk volumes with SSD caching or as separate high-speed storage for video editing and content creation. The M.2 NVMe drives are installed without tools, and the cooling vents in the device's body help to provide optimal heat dissipation.
Multimedia features and 4K streaming
The device includes an HDMI 2.0b graphics output that supports 10-bit hardware decoding of 4K video. Users can stream high-definition video directly using Plex platforms or create their own broadcasting centre with the ASUSTOR Live app, which provides simultaneous streaming to multiple platforms such as YouTube, Twitch or Facebook, without having to pay fees for external streaming services.
Data security
The ADM operating system offers multi-layered data protection, including a built-in firewall, AES-256 folder encryption, and an integrated ClamAV antivirus. The system is preparing for future threats with support for post-quantum TLS cryptography version 1.3 with the certified Kyber algorithm. This technology will protect stored data from decryption by future quantum computers and automatically establish a secure connection with compatible browsers.
Backup and cloud synchronisation
The Snapshot Center tools let you create up to 256 Btrfs volume snapshots for quick data recovery after accidental deletion or a ransomware attack. The DataSync Center and Cloud Backup Center applications synchronise data with commercial cloud services like Google Drive, Dropbox, Microsoft OneDrive or Amazon S3. This allows users to easily create a hybrid cloud storage solution with a combination of local and remote backups.
