I saw that this monitor has no review yet, so I wanted to give others some advice. I wanted a WOLED monitor with a matte display as I often use my computer in a bright environment. QD-oled displays usually have trouble displaying true black in bright environments. At the same time, I'm bothered by glossy screens in which you look at yourself like a mirror. When I combined these two requirements, the only monitor I could find was this one with WOLED and a non-glossy screen. And I have to say that so far I'm satisfied. I've been using it for some three months now, and so far no problem. I was worried that it would be too expensive for me and that I wouldn't use it to its full potential. But in retrospect I don't regret my purchase at all; )
WOLED - black stays black even in bright environments, unlike QD-OLED
240hz
Matte coating - I am currently writing a review in indirect sunlight and the reflection is almost non-existent
at the same time I don't find that matte coating has any negative effect on colors or text, unfortunately I can't compare with other types of coatings
Control panel quite intuitive, easy to set up
Backlight, helps especially at night when the display is more pleasant to look at
It turns on pixel cleaning on its own after shutting down the computer when it hasn't been on for a while. Then it automatically shuts down. That sounds like a cool feature to me.
I like the colors, but I don't have a comparison
I compared with a miniled aoc q27g3xmn, the contrast on OLED is noticeable even against miniled. I had them next to me and you could really tell. On the other hand, this monitor costs twice as much.
I also like it visually. This will be a bonus of probably most oleds, but it has a really thin screen and small margins. I didn't really look at it when I picked it out, but now that I have it at home, it's beautiful to look at off and on: )
I don't have a comparison in terms of colours, for example. I've never had a QD OLED. It is possible that other monitors would be better, but I am satisfied
But compared to a glossy monitor, it's really nice to see just the screen and not the room behind you
ASRock isn't exactly a leading monitor manufacturer, which is why I was and still am worried about something going wrong with it. The eventual repair could also be more challenging.
There are basically no proper reviews, for example on sites like Rtings, where they often detail aspects of all sorts of monitors. This one's not very well known or popular. I'm asking myself if I'm missing something.
Strong VRR flicker present. I had to turn off Freesync and variable refresh rate for basically all games. I have new graphics now, so it runs smoothly without it, but for example for some builds, turning off freesync or gsync might be more noticeable.
After turning off freesync, VRR flicker is really hardly noticeable at all. So to me, turning off freesync is worth the contrast and benefits of OLED
VRR flicker is present on all OLED and VA panels, only on some is stronger than others. Unfortunately, due to the lack of monitor reviews, I can't judge if there's any need to be overly problematic on this one
of course it is an OLED, so some care is needed for the screen - like pixel cleaning, to prevent burn in. But thanks to the simple UI and one-button control, it doesn't give me any problems at all. As I wrote in the pros, it also starts automatically after shutting down the computer, so the care doesn't really interfere with me
