Alza Café brand is long term very fresh (I've been buying for a few years now), beautifully evenly roasted beans to a light brown matte color, no oozing oil like you get with non-fresh coffee, looks really nice overall, they make me happy. Now I took coffee from some roastery that boasts that it roasts for 11 years and it looks like repackaged coffee from the supermarket, next time I'll take Alza kilos and I won't experiment anymore. If anyone is reading this, give them a shout out at the roastery and especially keep it that way.

Evaluating coffee is always tricky - 1000 people, 1000 tastes. However, I personally have had (even from the alzashop offer) really MUCH better coffee that is marked as premium.
The greatest contrast in taste and quality is felt when you just run out of the premium one and continue with this AlzaCafé from Guatemala. For lovers of quality coffee I can not recommend.

I believe it is roasted hastily at a high temperature and slightly over-roasted (a common problem of roasters who prefer quantity over quality)
