Maybe it's a piece by piece thing, but the longer I had the device, the bigger and more frequent the problems with USB signal dropouts became, so my keyboard and mouse kept disconnecting only to reconnect after a while. Later, the desk vibrations caused by typing on the keyboard were enough to cause the failure.
I bought a more expensive (and certainly better quality) alternative from Lenovo instead and there absolutely no problems, so it's not the laptop.
