My board with the R7 9800X3D booted on the first try and it works. I don't do any frantic overclocking and tweaking tricks with it, other than the standard AMD Expo settings on the memory. I didn't choose it because of the white color, but because at the time of purchase it was the only Asus ROG AM5 microATX board with a PCI-E slot right in the first position. But I didn't realize the drawback with the backplate (which you describe in the cons). So my next graphic might be very wide (or "high" depending on which side you look at it from. up to 4-slot), but it won't be allowed to have a very thick backplate.
