Please beware of misleading photo documentation of the product, where a Czech ID card is presented and then the product is photographed after plugging into the smartphone connector, but it is not possible to use the reader in this way! A few hours of troubleshooting reveals that the reader in combination with a smartphone can only be wireless, as the e-citizen app does not allow communication via the USB port. 2. Subsequently, Macbook users are finding that they are also out of luck if they have the latest macOS Tahoe, as the developers of the e-citizen app haven't even bothered to estimate when it will work for them. So cool that they're issuing e-ID cards as of 2018,. I expect reliable software by 2038. 3. Who thinks he can get away with it with a virtualization tool, so if you don't have an M3 chip or higher, you're out of luck because apple silicon through virtualization will not allow usb port communication, so unless you have a windows computer or you natively reinstall your Mac to an older version of macOS you can put your reader on the shelf.
