Samotný French press funguje mechanicky dobře. Obrovské zklamání je ale konstrukce spodní části pístu/sítka. Místo celokovového provedení jsou zde použity plastové díly – celá spodní krytka je z plastu.
V dnešní době, kdy se řeší uvolňování mikroplastů a chemikálií při kontaktu plastu s vařící vodou, považuji tohle za zásadní konstrukční chybu. Nechci si dobrovolně louhovat plast v horké kávě.
Pokud hledáte čisto-skleněný a kovový French press, tomuto modelu se vyhněte.
