I use the set in the living room and bedroom where you don't need too much bright light, but for the kitchen etc. I would definitely recommend a stronger one. The colored lighting is fun, but I mainly use the changes in brightness and temperature of the light, and it's really cool to have a brighter and dimmer light before bed. I also like the sleep mode, where the bulbs simulate sunset, which "drives" you to bed in a pleasant way.
I only control the bulbs with my mobile phone and don't feel the need to get a Bridge. But for multi-room use and automation, you can't avoid buying additional elements, which is quite a hit.
