I have years of experience with this brand (I've had my hair straightener for 13 years and it's still great). When I was looking for a curling iron, I read the reviews here and bought it. It's a classic curling iron, so yes, if you're not skilled yet, you can get burned like with any other curling iron. The curling iron has 3 basic modes where the temperature and time are set, but if you have tougher tougher hair, you can set your own mode to suit you when you switch it on. The lady who said that it is impractical because all the buttons are on the handle (which all curling irons have, because you can't put it anywhere else), so she always wrinkles something and adjusts it, obviously hasn't tried it. The curling iron has an automatic lock, after switching on you can set the mode you need and if you wait 15 seconds it will lock. During the lock, you can only use the button to start the timer or the off/on button (this is, however, sliding or you won't accidentally turn the curling iron off when handling it). The rest is about the style of shooting (differently you achieve curls, differently beach waves). It has a long cord and the tip stays cold, just a shame there isn't also a sheath to go with it.
The waves dropped within the hour, too bad. Otherwise, it was good to work with, except for the buttons that you have right in the grip of the curling iron. So you're always switching things around. If my active husband hadn't taken the box to the sorted waste, I would have returned it.
