I bought it unpacked, and at first it was grinding absolutely horrendously rough even on the finest settings. We were about to return it, but then we looked at it again and found that the grinding stones were not locked properly and were just sort of laid there. Properly locking the stones solved that, and now it grinds perfectly fine even on the lever. I'm a little guessing the previous owner didn't figure that out.
