As part of the transition of internet connections from 50Mbps 4G/LTE to 1Gbps fibre optics, 10 year old Tenda AP4s started to become bottlenecks with throughput of only around 40-50Mbit. I was looking for Access Points again, but dual-band standard at least WiFi5 started around 1500 CZK, some decent ones were even more expensive. So I took a chance and bought these routers. I run them in AP mode, so how do they handle router functions (like QoS, filtering, NAT/Port forwarding etc. ) I have no idea, but as simple APs they just work as they should. At 5Ghz/80Mhz bandwidth they run around 200Mbit, low jitter, stable, response 1-3ms. I didn't even have to add another one to the floor, as I had originally planned, because the previous Tenda AP4 almost couldn't pass through the reinforced concrete floor, when the signal was already there, it went max. in the hundreds of kilobytes, this Tenda AC10 is easily over 50Mbit. In short, for the purpose of a simple AP, it's a lot of music for really little money. And considering how the previous Tenda AP4s lasted without any problems for 10 years straight without me touching them, I hope that the quality of the brand has been maintained and these AC10s will serve similarly well.
