At a time when the same manufacturer has been offering a 5G solution for homes for some time now, coming up with a business solution that is a generation behind the home solution (it can handle LTE at most) is quite strange. Thanks for that, though. About the firmware: we cannot access the internal network via VPN (unlike the ER605, despite similar settings). We'll have to work it out with TP-Link support.
